Collaboration

The WBIA provides it memberships with professional development opportunities, from hearing directly from speakers about the latest technologies and advancements in the bio industry to networking opportunities. Here are a few of the examples:

Meetings

The bimonthly meetings of the WBIA have traditionally been one of our most successful and important events. Traditonally held on the second Wednesday of each month, the meetings provide not only a prime networking opportunity, but also allow members to hear directly from industry experts on the latest issues.

Guest speakers have included:

Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp
Discussed her vision for the department, the role of bio fuel in Wisconsin, and the importance of renewable energy.

Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection Secretary Ben Brancel

Discussed new markets for dried distillers grains and export opportunities for Wisconsin’s ethanol industry.

Dr. Tim Donoghue – Great Lakes Bioenergy Research Center

Discussed the vision of the GLBRC and opportunities for collaboration.

Networking

The WBIA has been successful in bringing a truly unique set of players to the table. Industry and Agriculture, Republicans and Democrats, management and labor, law firms and accountants have all had a say in what we do and how we communicate. Sharing ideas, developing relationships, and learning about new business opportunities are just some of the reasons we attract such as unique, important, prominent group of partners.
